Geribbelde Soldaten-draadfibula

What we’ve got here is a fibula (brooch) named soldiers brooch. This one is very rare and different from the others I got. Line engraving or horizontal line inprint below on the fibulas’ feet, it is also marked with the letter X in it. Above who knows who can explain this issue ? The 10th year or the 10th Roman legion --Gemina ----we found on that spot many Dutch-Roman period artefacts with inscription of the letter X. For instants some bracelets, brooches, Roman legions coins, round bars (see the bar-money picture on the section “Roman Money” number 334). Above the print of an X, and in another item of fake or real see picture 408 of this page. Anyway we find on that Roman site many Dutch-Roman period objects with the letter X in it and we hope someday to get the right explanation so we can give you the results of it.

We noemen hem de soldaten fibula of draad fibula deze is extreem rare of zeldzaam hij is bij de fibula voet met inkepingen in de vorm van horizontale lijnen. En bovenin staat er een letter X ingegraveerd het typische is waar deze draadfibula vanaf komt. Van die akker daar komen veel voorwerpen voor met de letter X ra - ra zoals ook vele legioens voorwerpen. Of de X moest in die periode doorgaan van ‘t 10e jaar maar dat kon niet want de anno werd nog niet vermeld in cijfers in die periode. We hopen deze letter X in de toekomst te ontleden. Hoe lang dit gaat duren weet alleeeeen Sinterklaas.
